NOLICHUCKY RIVER - SPRING CANOEING & CAMPING TRIP

May 9th & 10th, 2008   Shannon and I spent two nights camping on the Nolichucky River with some good friends, while also canoeing from "Big Rock" to Jackson Bridge.

On Friday night we set up camp, and ate like kings as our friend Jeff Lane fixed us all rib-eyes and baked potatoes.  We also had a great campfire and enjoyed our evening.

On Saturday morning, Jeff cooked a breakfast of sausage biscuits, and we soon headed out on our canoeing trip.  Shannon and I had a couple of close calls in the early rapids, but we managed to stay dry the entire trip.  I did a little fishing, but only caught two.  "Boy Shannon" was the fishing champ on both days by catching over 60 total.

The second night Jeff cooked us a wonderful meal again of bratwurst and cheeseburgers.  We had another great night and slept well by the river.
